Permits

Anyone interested in building in Greenbrier will need to come by the City Hall to submit or pick up an application for a permit.

Building permits for construction are calculated using the following:

Square feet of the project is multiplied by the current rate in the International Code Council's Building Valuation Data schedule. The valuation is then calculated to find the cost of the permit. The amount of the permit calculation is broken down by the following:

$15.00 for the first $1000.00

$5.00 for each addition $1000.00 thereafter

The City of Greenbrier requires a permit for residents that have a pool. A pool permit is based on the cost of the pool. There are additional regulations and requirements for pools. Therefore, we encourage any person interested in installing a pool call or come by the Codes office prior to purchase.

The pool permit scale is as follows:

Cost of Pool Permit Fee

Up to $5,000.00 $  75.00

$5,000 to $10,000 $100.00

$10,000 to $15,000 $150.00

$15,000 to $20,000 $200.00

$20,000 and up  $250.00

All permit fees include an initial inspection to the finished site. Any site that requires a re-inspection a $35.00 fee is assessed.
